I do still enjoy watching a good old school holiday cartoon around this time of year. I like the ones from back when I was kid and catching a holiday special on tv meant something, as you only got to see it once a year. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of Mickey Mouse Merry and Scary for review and was excited. Halloween and Christmas hijinks from Mickey and the gang all on one disc.
Merry and Scary, the Halloween themed story follows Mickey and Pluto as they plan on decorating and setting up their home to be as scary as possible. Mickey, Donald, and Pluto even plan on telling scary stories to everyone who comes by. The only problem the plan fails as everyone finds humor in what these three have done. I can honestly say, as someone who has been to Disneyland for the Mickey Halloween party, there is nothing scary about this. But it really is a good old fashioned time. Lots of humor for every age, and even if they wont admit it (like my son) kids over 5yrs will still enjoy it as well.
If that was not enough you also get the Duck The Halls special where Donald decides not to go south for the winter. This time he just wants to stay and have Christmas will all of his friends. Mickey decides to help make Donald’s Christmas special, but as he is a duck in the dead of winter, things do not go as planned and hilarity ensues. This one I actually enjoyed better as Donald has always been my favorite character, as he is very obnoxious in his own caring way.
You also get the bonus cartoons of
The Boiler Room
Black and White
A great value and fun for your family. Not just the little kids but us adults as well
