Before her descent into madness, Dr. Harleen Quinzel was a promising psychiatrist assigned to Arkham Asylum, Gotham's home for the criminally insane. But after meeting the Joker, the young doctor became obsessed with the crazed criminal's warped mind. Sensing opportunity, the Joker manipulated her, driving his therapist so mad that he was able to control her. Harleen fell in love with the villain, broke him out of Arkham and devoted her life to making him happy and spreading his bloody brand of mayhem
Athletic, agile and dangerously unpredictable in a fight, Harley Quinn is a formidable opponent in her own right. She is willing to do anything in order to further the Clown Prince of Crime's goals—no matter the cost to anyone else or even herself. Her energetic, affable and animated personality is enough to make almost anyone drop their guard—a mistake that could easily cost them their life. Deranged and psychotic, Harley Quinn is the poster girl for chaos' terrifying allure.
Starting with the face you can see this is a perfect match for her comic book counterpart The cheekbones, red lips, villainess smile it’s all here. It’s a dead ringer. She’s painted her trademark white that almost looks a touch of grey in the light The eyes have the pink and blue smeared makeup below and partially around them while the head is slightly tipped at an angle. From the chin to the eyebrows it’s a dead ringer. The hair has the part and comes down the sides of the face in the trademark pigtails, with a slight curl in the front. The left pigtail has the pink coloring at the bottom, while the right has the baby blue almost green color at the top that morphs into a dark blue and it comes down to Harleys hand as she twists it between her fingers. Her trademark black choker collar is on as well.
The top of the body is accurate with the red and black corset top with alternating red and black stars on the chest. It’s a very shiny paint job that glistens in the light. The top has all the stitching lines in it as if it were real, complete with gold buckles, but its painted and designed to give it a true comic book look. Moving down you can see her trademark belt and shorty shorts . The gold star belt buckle is almost as shiny as the shorts. A simple star in a circle, but that’s all it takes to stand out. The belt is a deep shade of gray and it goes perfectly with the black and red shorts. The left red side has Harleys trademark diamond logo on the side.
This side shot gives you a good look at the pop gun she is carrying. You have to look close but its clearly a toy gun. It has the cork in the muzzle. Other than that it’s a perfectly sculpted six shooter that’s cocked back and ready to fire. You can see all of her fingers are individually sculpted which is a trademark of Diamond Selects craftmanship. If you look down towards the waist you can see her belt has a row of bullets toward the side that are all a grey like silver with bright gold tips.
The back does not have much going on as its such a little costume but you do get a great shot of the boots and socks. You can see the bright black socks with the red stripe at the top that are tucked into her big red and black boots, that are on alternating feet to match the shorts. The buckles go all the way down and are a faint gold color. I really cant get over the shine on this statue. Its one of the brightest Harley Quinn pieces I own, and I own a lot.
The base is fantastic it a set of four Joker cards painted exactly in the style the Joker carries with him red, black jester hat with on ominous half sneer half smile face resting on the baby blue top with red and black bells with JOKER written at the top and bottom of each. The cards are so well done they have that off brown staining that paper gets as it becomes older. Throw in the fact they are laid out like a regular 4 of a kind and it really looks amazing. Its also bright enough in the center but dull enough on the sides to make her red and black boots really pop out. Its one of the coolest bases I have ever seen
This is a great Harley Quinn statue to add to your collection. As I stated I have lots of Harley Quinn stuff so there was a home for her right away. It’s a great piece from Diamond Select that you should pick up right away.
Overall 4.5 out of 5 Stars!
