24 Hours To Live Blu-ray Review

1/26/2018

Picture
24hrs to live is a great film. There, I said it right off the bat. Great film, lots of action. It's well choreographed and we'll acted, yet it somehow doesn't get the respect it deserves.

It stars Ethan Hawk as Travis Conrad, a former soldier who became a Mercenary/Hitman for a government organization known as Red Mountain. Living a retired life after the death of his wife and son Travis is approached by his old boss to do another job, offering him 2 million a day to complete the task. He needs his to kill a whistleblower, a former soldier named Keith who is set to testify against Red Mountain, and who is currently under protection in South Africa by a Hong Kong Interpool agent.

Travis travels there and durring a battle is killed, however he reawakens thanks to a new drug created by Red Mountain. He is brought back to life for 24hrs. He even has a little watch to keep track of the time. The one major side effect however is that he keeps have hallucinogenic flashbacks of his wife and son. It's a side effect of the drug. Because of this Travis sees the evil in The Red Mountain and decides to help Keith stay alive and bring them down.

What follows is a combination of John Wick and Crank. A race against time and when you only have 24 hours to live you have to kill alot of people fast. The action flys at you fast and furious with hardly any slow down. I don't know if I would go as far to call it an action fans dream but it's definitely enough to satisfy and action fan.

Hawk gives a great performance as usual and helps to propel the human element of the film along. The audio and visuals are fantastic, which is one of Lionsgate's Staples in the Blu-ray field.

A treat for any action fan, or anyone just wanting to kill a few hours watch explosions and gun fights.

Overall 3 out of 5 Stars
