Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis American Psycho was a hybrid of horror and black comedy hybrid with a fantastic soundtrack and a career making performance from Christian Bale.
It centers around an 80s yuppie named Patrick Bateman (Bale). He's a wealthy NY investment banker who leads a life of meaningless luxury. He's vain, self absorbed, and also a huge fan of Huey Lewis and the News, and a disturbed killer.
When ab associate shows him his business card, that turns out to be nicer than his own Bateman snaps and kills a dog, a bum, a model, some hookers, and a friend while blaring Huey Lewis.
The film is a cult classic at this point and the ending is often discussed. Personally I hate the ending and find it a lazy cop-out. That aside American Psycho deserves it's place in film history. It's a must watch and a definite must own. You don't have to be a horror fan to enjoy this
Now if your a fan you already own this, but now Lionsgate is releasing it on a new 4K transfer. U have to say right off its a must buy.
Presented fully uncut this film looks amazing. The transfer is state if the art to sat the least. The picture is flawless and every scene from night to day seems to come to life. The sound is great, and as a fellow Huey Lewis and the News fan I loved hearing it blast through my surround sound. To top all this off it even has special features.
