Cabin In The Woods 4K Review

8/18/2017

Picture

Cabin in the Woods is a different movie to say the least. Filmed in 2009 yet not released untill 2012. It stars Chris Hemsworth and was produced by Joss Whedon.

It's a unique story to say the least. It's about a group of college kids who go to a cabin in the woods on a vacation. Turns out that the area is ran by a group of people who controll the entire area. They work for The Director and with the help of some hallucinogenic drugs start to mess with the kids minds.

They begin to summon monsters to attack the kids, even placing bets on to what kind of monster will appear. It turns out this all part of a blood ritual to appease the Ancient Ones

With a likable cast, a surprise ending, and just a generally different film it's definitely something to watch. Whedon himself has stated that he wanted to try to revitalize the Horror genre when making this film.

Originally it was set to be filmed in 3D. Sadley that did not come about, but we get something just as great. Lionsgate as released this in beautiful 4k. I will say I have the Blu Ray and compared to this transfer it looks awful.

Lionsgate has outdone themselves with the transfer the dark scenes have such a Polish to them everything seems more sinister. The audio blasts through the surround sound making you hear every little background sound there is.

If you've seen the film and like it get this upgrade. If you haven't seen it now is the perfect time and the 4K is the version to buy

Overall 4 out of 5 Stars
