"I'm investigating a murder and my prime suspect is a house"

That's a line spoken by Detective Mark Lewis, who is investigation a massacre at an old abandond house that was the site of a mass murder years ago There are dead body's, 2 missing kids and John, one of the survivors who is seemingly gone into shock.

From there we incorporate found footage, and standard film as we follow John being interviewed by Dr Klein, a psychologist who is trying to find out what happened, while the police in the next room are studying video taken by the kids. It turns out the went to this old House as it is supposedly haunted to perform a seance.

Unfortunately John's mom was the sole survivor of the massacre at the home years back and they manage to unleash an evil spirit.

There's plenty of gore and jump scares as the cops try to figure out where one of the missing kids is, as well as try to solve the murders. The found footage, which is a gimmick I am not fond of actually works well here as it makes the transition between past and present a little more unsettling.

There's a good twist ending and good acting throughout. The film is only 83min so it moves at a frantic pace. It's a good film for horror fans and well worth picking up.

James Wan produced and his trademark jump scare tactics are employed to full effect here. With the addition of a good score and very faint, almost washed out at times coloring, the tone ia that of real horror

Overall 2.5 out of 5 Stars
