Phantasm Dvd Collection Review

9/13/2017

Picture
Phantasm, for those of you unfamiliar is a series of horror films that center around The Tall Man, an evil undertaker character and his army of dwarf like monsters who after killing someone are able to bring them back to life as zombies. His weapon of choice is a silver spear which can fly after you and essentally drill into you as well.

There are 5 films in all. Each picks up imidiately where the previous one ends. Our heroes are Mike, and Reggie. In part 1 Mike begins noticing how residents of his town keep dying. One night he ventures out to the cemetery and sees the local mortician, The Tall Man and his minions reanimating a body. Mike get Reggie to help him as they try to stop the tall man.

Part 2 begins where part 1ends then flash forwards 8 years to when Mike is getting out of a psychiatric ward. Reggie picks him up, but in route home his family is killed and his house is destroyed. Knowing the tall man is behind this the two set off to stop him

Part 3 is more of the same, yet a bit more humorous. Mike and Reggie travel through towns that have been sucked dry by the tall man in an attempt to stop him

Part 4 is a bit more heavy on sci-fi as Mike is now about to metally controll the silver spear, and Reggie begins traveling to other dimensions in the hopes of stopping the Tall Man

Part 5 takes place in earth, in an alien plant, in Reggie's mind, and more, as Reggie makes one lass attempt to finish the Tall Man for good.

Part horror, part, sci-fi, part road movie these films have developed a large cult following over the years. Although not everyone's cup of tea there really is something in each film for anyone to enjoy.
