Red 4K Review

8/24/2017

Picture

When people think of comic book movies they usually think of say Batman, Spiderman, or the Avengers. However there have been lots of films based off comics that people don't realize. Road to Perdition, and History of Violence come to mind. Then there is RED, which stands for Retired and Extremely Dangerous. A little know mini series that came out in 2004. That same series was turned into a Hollywood film in 2010.

Red stars Bruce Willis as Frank Moses a retired CIA operative who constantly calls a young girl named Sara who works for a pension office. He tells her that he is not receiving his checks, which is not true, he mearly wants to talk with her. One night a kill squad raids his house but Frank is able to take them all out. He figures his phone has been tapped and that Sara may be in danger so he kidnaps Sarah, who eventually does realizes he is not insane and that people really are trying to kill them.

Determined to find out who placed a hit in him he goes to meet his old team. Joe Matheson (Morgan Freeman), Victoria Winslow (Helen Mirren) and the scene stealing Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich)

What follows is an action packed, yet hilarious romp and these retired agents still prove they the best in the business. The characters all have fantastic screen presence and fantastic chemistry as well.

Lionsgate has just released Red, and it's sequel Red 2 on 4K, and let me tell you they did a fantastic job. The transfer is absolutely amazing. From the bright lights to the sound every frame of action seems to glide accross you screen. It looks better than it did at the theatre

A beautiful transfer of a laugh of loud action packed film with a top notch cast is one you need to head out and pick up.

Overall 4 out of 5 Stars!
