Red Christmas Review

10/23/2017

Picture
Red Christmas is a nasty little home Invasion slasher film from Australia starring Dee Wallace. Crafted in a small budget, the film is sure to be a modern day cult hit that horror fans will add to their Christmas movie list.

Wallace stars as Diane, a loving mother who has gathered all her children to the family estate for Christmas dinner. She wants to have one last Christmas at home before selling it. Things are going ok, save for her kids bickering over the impending estate sale, untill a bandaged up nut job shows up.

Turns out years ago Diane went to have an abortion, but just as she was finishing up the place got bombed by a group of pro lifers. Turns out her aborted baby wasn't dead and one of the weirdos took him, named him Cletus and raised him as his own. Well now little Cletus wants to meet him mom and be part of the family. This doesn't work out well so he simply decides to kill them instead.

Abortions, down syndrome, murders, Christmas, lots of practical gore fx, and Dee Wallace make this a weird yet very entertaining good time.

The Blu-ray looks and sounds amazing and the gore scenes really pop. This one really does have all the makings of a holiday cult classic. I highly recommend it

Overall

3.5 out of 5 Stars!
