Robot Chicken Walking Dead DVD Review

3/15/2018

I love toys, which you can probably tell by the toy reviews I continually post. Mego toys were my favorite as a kid. So it was only natural I gravitated to Robot Chicken when it first started. I love all things horror.and collect comics as well, so it should be no shock that I was a big Walking Dead fan. I say was as the show has slowed down a lot over the last couple years. But it's still better than most things on tv. So when I heard that Robot Chicken was doing a Walking Dead special I couldn't wait.

Taking place in a Walking Dead museum after the zombie outbreak is no more, we focus on a no name character who wants to learn all about what happened. He is told the story or Rick Gremlin and his daughter Carla and how the marriage between Carla and Negans bat Lucille help bring humanity together.

When the tour group heads to the next room Carl, now an older man grabs the guy and tells him he will tell him what really happened.

What follows is a fast paced series of clips from episode one all the way to the current season. Each clip, which is only seconds long is absolutely hillarious. From Shane seducing Laura, Rick naming his group Rick and the Gang, to Dale dreaming about jumping things in his RV while being eaten this is a laugh riot.

Clocking in at a lean 22 minutes this special is a laugh riot. I wish it could have been at least 60min as there is so much more ground they could have covered.

One really great thing is the actual cast of the Walking Dead provided the voices for there characters. That piece of authenticity added to the humor and made it feel special.

As the DVD is short it got filled with special features
  • Behind-the-Scenes Making of The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking
  • Commentary featuring Scott M. Gimple, Seth Green, Robert Kirkman, Matthew Senreich, and Tom Sheppard
  • Bawkward
  • Sketches to Die For
  • Behind the Screams

This a a must own for Walking Dead fans, and just for people who want a good laugh. It's definitely worth picking up.

Overall 4 out of 5 Stars
