The Horror of Party Beach Blu-ray Review

8/24/2018

Picture
The Horror of Party Beach is schlock cinema at it's finest. Filmed in 1964 in glorious black and white it's a combination sci-fi beach party movie that has to be seen to be believed

When a boat dumps some toxic waste into the ocean it flows down to an old sunken ship that's filled with the skeletons of the old crew. It also lands on all the see weed and water plants causing them to combine with the skeletons and form zombie like water monsters.

Now there's a big beach area not far from where this happened so naturally the monsters head there and begin killing people, mostly young girls. The attack one who is alone having just run off from her boyfriend. They get another group having a beach slumber party, and even more girls who's car blows a tire.

One of the monsters follows a few girls into town and loses his hand smashing a store window. From there the local scientist probes the arm and tries to develop a way to stop them.

This film is panned by most critics but those people don't know what their  talking about. This film is a blast, it definitely original and the lower budget adds to the charm. The monsters are goofy looking and the acting is bad, but that's what makes this so good. If you were a fan of the classic Humanoids From The Deep this is right up your alley.

Severin Films has picked this treasure up and are releasing it on Blu-ray for the first time ever. The transfer looks great. I love a good black and white film especially late at night. This transfer looks fantastic. The audio is great as well and really booms through your speakers. They even included special features.
