The small social thriller built up an interesting mythology and spurred a bunch of fan theories. So naturally, after such success and acclaim, people are wondering if there will be a Get Out 2. Encouragingly, Jordan Peele did not rule out the possibility of such a sequel, saying:
"I can tell you I will definitely seriously consider it. I love that universe and I feel like there is more story to tell. I don't know what it is now, but there are some loose ends."
Making a sequel to any beloved film is always a tricky prospect and there are high expectations. But Get Out crafted such a compelling mythology that it is hard to not want to see what happens next. As Jordan Peele told THR, there are still loose ends once the credits roll and seeing those play out would be fascinating. Chris Washington may have killed the Armitage family but as we saw in the film, they were just the central part of an insidious community. Was Bradley Whitford's Dean Armitage the only one who could perform the Coagula procedure? What if others continue his work after he is gone? We still don't know exactly how many people underwent the Coagula and how many people are out there, imprisoned in their own minds and bodies. So will Chris tell his story to the press or authorities and if he does, will anyone believe him? Heck, they could even do a prequel film as Lil Rel Howery has suggested. There are a ton of interesting places a Get Out 2 could go that would expand on the story and work as a sequel.
