John Cena’s Instagram is often a topic of discussion among wrestling fans because unlike most grapplers who share workout selfies and sponsored meal supplement posts, John Cena prefers to share seemingly random images found from the oddest corners of the internet without any explanation or context. In the past two weeks, Cena has posted about Watchmen twice: one of The Comedian’s blood-stained smiley face button and a piece of fan art featuring Doctor Manhattan.

This might not mean anything; one of the roster’s many comic fans may have turned him onto the graphic novel and he’s just got around to it, but Cena’s Instagram often tells a story, if you know where to look. While they might seem random at first, there’s usually some meaning to them that you can figure out, often times they don’t make sense until a couple of weeks later and that may just be the case with Watchmen. We know that Damon Lindelof is working on a HBO adaptation of the comic and Cena may just be in the running for a role.
