Ben Affleck’s reign as the Caped Crusader is all but over. Details have been scarce about who will replace the actor in the iconic role, but according to new details about the casting process, it will be someone much younger.
According to a report from Revenge of the Fans, the casting process for The Batman is calling for an actor in the age range between 25 to 30 years old, which is significantly younger than the type of aged and weathered Bruce Wayne we’ve seen Affleck—who is 45 years old—portray in Batman v. Superman and Justice League.
With this new target age, it rules out a large range of actors, including the previously mentioned Jake Gyllenhaal, who was reported to be considered for the role. No specific actor was mentioned in the report as being the main choice and the casing process will continue.
