On December 7th The Psych Movie will premier on USA and John Cena will play a role in Psych: The Movie. Cena actually guest starred on the original series for one episode, playing Juliet O'Hara (Maggie Lawson)'s brother Ewan. He was the badass superspy that Shawn often pretends to be, and it should be interesting to see how exactly he factors into the film's narrative. Cena wasn't a significant presence in the show's run, but he's since become quite the bankable star.
Series lead James Roday spoke with EW after Psych's exciting NY Comic-Con panel, and teased how important John Cena's role may be in the upcoming TV movie. He said,
"He appears as Ewan O'Hara, and he's absolutely pivotal to the trajectory of where this could potentially go. You will stand up from your couch and just start applauding the moment he comes in, because he's so good"
It looks like John Cena won't just have a bit cameo in Psych: The Movie, but will actually be a major factor into the film's overall storyline. And in the same conversation, Psych creator Steve Franks praised Cena's performance as Ewan. It's apparently so fantastic that the fandom might give their TV a standing ovation.
