John Kreese: Sympathetic Hero of Cobra Kai

1/6/2021

So there have been lots of questions regarding certain aspects of the Cobra Kai series. First and foremost right now is who did Kreese call at the end of season 3. That much is obvious, I mean it’s Terry Silver all the way. But the one thing that people wonder is why does no one ever call the cops. I mean If someone threw a kid threw my window and a gang of punks broke into my house to start fighting my kid and her friends I would have gone to the police. But if you simply take a step back you can understand why Daniel didn’t do that. You will also understand why Kreese is the most sympathetic character of the series.
Picture
See first off Daniel’s crazy wife already has a protection order against her from Kreese from when she blatantly attacked him. So that already looks bad. Now lets also not forget that when Kreese went before the city council to plead his case for why the tournament should be held he was respectful. He was in a nice outfit, well spoken, a former decorated war veteran, a man of the community. Daniel, his wife, and even Johnny began verbally attacking him. So right there its public knowledge that Daniels family has it in for him. And finally Daniel and his wife did a shady under the table deal with Kreese’s landlord, to kick him out and that they would pay double the rent just to have him evicted. That’s illegal, tax fraud, larceny, and criminal mischief all in one. The landlord didn’t even give him proper notice. He came there with goons to throw Kreese out. Luckily Kreese beat those punks up and kept his dojo. No right there, especially in the pandemic owning a small business is very tough. Daniel and his wife tried to prevent this poor man from making a living. You add all of that up and what you have established is this family is clearly out to get this man and cause him grief and financial ruin. So had Daniel called the police what good what it do? I mean Kreese was not there, he was bust training a young troubled kid in Robbie. Daniel and Johnny crashed his place of business after and hour and attacked him. Sure Daniel could have called the cops on the kids, but those kids got there asses kicked. No Daniel was smart as with all the harassment his family did to poor Kreese it would simply be his word over another, and with the amount of witnesses at the council meeting on tops of the restraining orders they would have never had a case.

Now when it comes to Johnny he should be thankful Kreese didn’t have him throw in jail. See Kreese created Cobra Kai and it was financed by Terry Silver. Kreese designed the program, the logo, the advertising, everything. “Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy” was the tagline Kreese created. Now Johnny may have been the schools top student of all time, but he owned no intellectual properties involved. He was simply a student who paid to train there. So all these years later when he decided to open his own school, which is in his rights to do, and train kids the way he was trained, which again is totally legal, he should have never called it Cobra Kai. That name does not belong to him. The cobra log and motto do not belong to him. In fact when Kreese returned at the end of season one Johnny should be thankful Kreese didn’t serve him with papers an sue him for everything he owns. I mean Kreese could have had the school closed. Instead, as he is a great guy he told Johnny he wanted to help him mold these young kids. But Johnny wanted to do it his way and eventually told Kreese to hit the bricks. Once again Kreese could have said “Ok I’ll see you in court” and took everything but he didn’t he did it the right way. He approached the landlord of the building, with whom Johnny had no contract with and said I will sign a contract and take over this lease legally and officially. He did that, and as he is the rightful owner of the intellectual property he kept the name and logo. He was so nice he still on more than one occasion offered Johnny a chance to stay there, but no Johnny just left.

When you look at all of the evidence presented here you can see that its Daniel and Johnny that are both the bad guys. Kreese was a humble war veteran who came back from Vietnam with some issues, possible PTSD and said, you know I was bullied as a kid (proved in season 3) my girlfriend was killed and I was lied to about it (also proved in season 3) , and my own instructor and commanding officer tried to kill me in cold blood (proved in season 3. He took all of that tragedy and said “I want to help other people no go through what I did” So he opened a self defense school and taught people how to no longer be afraid. Kreese really is the hero of this story, and that’s also the reason the authorities were never called on him
