Justice League Was Not THe Worst Film Of 2017

12/29/2017

So, it should come as absolutely no surprise that Justice League has made everyone’s list as the number 1 worst film of 2017.  I must say that this is one I don’t agree with at all, In fact I think its one of the better films of 2017.  Sure it doesn’t hold a candle to Guardians of the Galaxy 2, or even Thor Ragnarok but its by no means bad.  I would go so far to say its right up their with Wonder Woman, it was just never given a chance.  I mean lets be honest, the movie was panned and hated when it was still being made.  That should tell you right there that opinions were formed long before said critic or fan saw it. Sure it had some issues, but by no means was it the worst film of the year.

Lets look at what DC finally did, they added humor and even color to the film.  Gone was the Nolan grey, or Synder dark blue.  In place was a colorful film, not bright leap off the page Marvel colors, but colors none the less.  Gone was the brooding, and in place was some humor.  Now I will admit, you can pretty much tell what Josh Whedon filmed and what Zack Snyder filmed.  Sure Synder left fairly early but he had lots of stuff already filmed.  If I had to knock anything it would be that you can really tell the difference between scenes, which can be a bit unsettling.  But overall it was good.  It had lots of action, the cast worked well together, in fact my only issue with the cast was that, as good as Ezra Miller was as the Flash, he’s no Grant Gustin.  The fact DC doesn’t incorporate there Shows and Movies together really bothers me, but that a story for another time.

People praised Wonder Woman because it was more “Fun” than other DC films, but hated Justice League because it was to “Fun”.  Should Batman have made jokes?  No as that’s not Batman, but should Superman be dark and brooding?  No, he should be a happy good natured All American Farm boy.  Batman is the dark as Superman is the light, and most people seem to forget that. Flash has always been a fun loving guy, Wonder Woman was spot on, and Aquaman has had so many incarnations I can base him on anything, but he was one of the highlights of the film.  Cyborg did not disappoint and even let out his trademark "Boo-Ya" call towards the end

The action scenes were top notch comic book action, and the film was overflowing with them.  In fact as Super Hero films go this is one of the more action packed ones to come out, something that was truly lacking in Batman v Superman.

People love to hate DC, and with the track record I get why, but give the movie a chance first.  Justice League was a nice fun lean 2hr film with humor and action.  It is by no means a bad film or even the worst film of the year in my opinion.
