Kenny Rogers has died at the age of 81, according to a statement posted by his family.
Rogers died Friday night surrounded by his family and under hospice care.
Rogers' career spanned six decades. He had 24 No. 1 hits and was a Country Music Hall of Fame member.
His family said they were planning a small private service "out of concern for the national COVID-19 emergency," according to the statement. The family said a larger celebration of life would happen at a later date.
Rogers died of natural causes, according to his family.
