Robert Rodriguez Directing Escape From New York Remake

Its time to accept the sad fact, Escape From New York is getting remade sooner or later.  Well now Deadline is reporting that Robert Rodrigues has been tapped to direct the remake for Fox.

Rodriguez has stated many times how much he loves the original, and has a deep love for John Carpenter.  He even had him on his Directors Chair show on his El Ray Network.

So in my opinion if there going to do this, they at least have the right guy behind the camera as Rodriguez's style would be the best way to capture Snake Pliskin.
