Brenda Walsh is headed back to Beverly Hills.
Shannen Doherty will rejoin her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars in Fox's reboot that's set to premiere in the summer.
The six-episode "event series," with a truncated title of BH90210, is something of a meta-reboot: Doherty, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling are all playing "heightened versions of themselves," as Fox describes it, as the cast decides to attempt to mount a reboot of the iconic teen soap.
Here is Fox's logline for BH90210: "Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Shannen, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?"
All seven stars will serve as executive producers of BH90210 along with writers Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler, who worked on The CW's 90210 and conceived the idea with Garth and Spelling. Patrick Sean Smith is also an executive producer; the show is a co-production of CBS TV Studios, which produced the Darren Star-created original, and Fox Entertainment.
