Before her descent into madness, Dr. Harleen Quinzel was a promising psychiatrist assigned to Arkham Asylum, Gotham's home for the criminally insane. But after meeting the Joker, the young doctor became obsessed with the crazed criminal's warped mind. Sensing opportunity, the Joker manipulated her, driving his therapist so mad that he was able to control her. Harleen fell in love with the villain, broke him out of Arkham and devoted her life to making him happy and spreading his bloody brand of mayhem
Athletic, agile and dangerously unpredictable in a fight, Harley Quinn is a formidable opponent in her own right. She is willing to do anything in order to further the Clown Prince of Crime's goals—no matter the cost to anyone else or even herself. Her energetic, affable and animated personality is enough to make almost anyone drop their guard—a mistake that could easily cost them their life. Deranged and psychotic, Harley Quinn is the poster girl for chaos' terrifying allure.
Starting with the face you can see this is a perfect match for her animated series counterpart. The cheekbones, red lips, villainess smile it’s all here. It’s a dead ringer. She’s painted in her trademark white that almost looks a touch of grey in the light The eyes have the bold black mask painted around them, and the head is slightly tipped at an angle. From the chin to the eyebrows it’s a dead ringer. No fancy hair on this one. This is the old school jester outfit done in red and black. So Harley is wearing her trademark jester hat that is part of the overall outfit. Black and red with the black top hanging down with a white beanie ball at the bottom.
The top of the body is accurate with the red and black body suite going smooth all the way around. It’s a very shiny paint job that glistens in the light. The top has the white bib with the balls on all three point. It’s painted and designed to give it a true animated style look. Moving down you can the outfit just continues. Its one long body suite. Red and black. The cool thing is the top half is black on the left and red on the right, whereas the bottom is red on the left and black on the right. Same style just a variation of the colors.
This side shot shows off more of the black and red costume, but you get a look at her ruffles on outfit before the hand starts. There done in white with the black molding and shading but still smooth to keep that animated look. The sleeve of the outfit is black, but the glove itself is red. Its really nice how they kept the same two colors but changed them around in parts to break up the monotony in the patters. Speaking of patter if you look at the leg you can see Harleys main symbol, the four black diamonds on her red pant leg. Everything looks exactly as it did in the animated series, as well as in her early comic appearances. Not a lot to describe, but accurate to say the least.
The back shows off more of the same, red and black. I wanted to include the shot though so you could see the placement of Harleys hands and legs. With both hands outstretched and aimed back combined with the fact she has her left foot down and the right raised up you get the impression that she is leaping right at you. In fact for only being a 3 color statue, yes I’m counting the white ruffles, its very lifelike. It really does give a “jumping” impression.
The base is a little circular top also done in the red and black alternating style. Her little diamond triangles are painted at the top. The top hold a small orange jack in the box with a cartoon drawing of the Joker on it. It even has the little jack in the box handle on it. Harleys little black bootie (the shoe) is placed toes up on the box itself. Adding a cartoon drawing of the Joker on the box was a great touch. Throwing in the orange box also helps keep it separate from the base and rest of the piece as it’s the same color scheme between them
Overall this is a great piece. If you’re a Harley fan like I am do yourself a favor and pick this up right away. You can never have to many Harley Quinn statues in your house.
Overall 5 out of 5 Stars!
