Injustice 2 is a popular video game. The storyline centers around Batman and his Insurgency's attempt to restore society after the fall of Superman's Regime; however, the arrivals of the newly formed supervillain group "The Society" and the alien Brainiac forces Batman to consider freeing the imprisoned Superman to help combat the threats. The game received positive reviews from critics, who praised its story, presentation, improved gameplay mechanics, abundance of in-game content, and character customization options, while criticizing its random loot and microtransaction systems.

Diamond Select Toys continues to roll out the Injustice line of statues with The Batman, which is awesome because I love the Injustice video games. Sadly Batman may be the coolest character, but he’s the hardest to use in my opinion. I’m a Harley Quinn guy when I play. I covered that already though when I reviewed her Injustice statue last month. This time, its Batman’s turn. And before we begin I have to say I was taking these pics right after I played the game, and this is a spot on design in every sense of the word.

Starting the face you can see a much more hardened (if that’s even possible) Batman under that cowl. From the jaw line to the lips this statue is a dead ringer for the video game version. The frown lines by the lips add a nice touch of anger to the piece. I love the cowl design as well. Notice how it's sculpted to show all the wrinkles and folds from cowl to cape, yet maintain a very shiny almost metallic look . It even has a slight lift in the shoulder area to show how the cape is blowing as Batman leaps into action. The eyes of the cowl are the most important however as they form that trademark scowl look the Batman in known for. You can feel how angry and determined he looks by the bending of the brow in this design.

This side shot gives you a better look at the arm. I like how its planted onto the base. The fingers are open so it gives this a look of not only stealth, but more importantly Batman ready to spring into action. You can see how each finger is individually sculpted and pointed down and out just as a real hand would be. The armor on the forearm is great. A Dull silver with the fins staying black as they stick out from the outfit itself. You also get a nice example of how the cape is more of a armor, Kevlar style as well. You can see all the stitching and padding going throughout. You can also see how it not only shines, but is lifting up from the shoulders as well.

Before I get to the base l wanted to point of the back of the cape. As you can see it's perfectly done to look like it's blowing as Batman jumps into action. Every line is perfectly sculpted. You can see the lift where the shoulders are pushed up and the one part I really like is how there is a part of the cape is touching the base where Batman is leaping into action. It's a nice touch that needs to be mentioned. The way the right arm is sticking out and reaching back adds a touch of excitement to the statue as well.

This bottom shot gives you a look at the boots. Leather boots sculpted with all the wrinkles as they would have in real life. You can see the flashlight hooked to her the utility belt . As well as a great shot of the knee pads and armor plating on the thigh. Like the rest of the piece everything flows together perfectly. The base itself is a simple black square, Nothing more nothing less, it’s a very basic plate Batman is standing on. Which in this case is fine, as the colors blend and it helps to the feel of the game itself that this is based on. It also matches the Harley Quinn Injustice 2 base as well. So the reoccurring them works great when placing these together.

As I have a giant wall of Batman statues this is where this resides. It looks fantastic and goes great with all the other Batman pieces in my collection. Diamond Select makes amazing Batman pieces and this is no exception. Hopefully they keep pumping out more of these Injustice pieces as they look fantastic. Add this one to your collection today.

Overall 5 out of 5 Stars!
