Lady Deadpool is a female counterpart of Deadpool from the alternate reality Earth-3010, named Wanda Wilson. Out of a need to belong and feel wanted, she joined the side of a group of rebels fighting against loyalists in the United States. According to Wanda, the fight started because fascists in the federal government started to impose their will on the people, a schism in congress, generals were taking sides and states declared independence, which eventually to United States' current situation.

Yes, for those who don’t read comic books Lady Deadpool is real. She’s not prominently featured in the cartoons and films but she is a real character. She really is simply, a female version of the Deadpool we all love and laugh at. I always enjoy reading her exploits in the comics and was glad to include her on my wall of statues. Now she does wear the exact same out fit as Wade Wilson, our Deadpool but in this piece from Diamond Select Toys she is unmasked. This is a variant from New York Comic Con, which was held virtually this year. You can still pick them up online. I will have the link listed below.
Picture
Staring at the head you can see she is not disfigured like Wade Wilson. She is designed to be a typical comic book bombshell in terms of body and looks. Her Hair is blond and sculpted to hang over the sides of her face with just a touch of blowback sculpted in. It’s a golden blond like in the books with curls on the sides. Etched to give it depth but still sleek to look like the comics its shaded in a very faint black to give it depth. It looks great, almost like its still messed up from taking off the mark. Her eyebrows are slanted down giving her a slight look of sinisterness. The eyes are done just like in the comics, and her lips are a cherry red to give her that trademark look. She is turned to the side to give it a nice over the shoulder look and feel. You can see there are real would muscles sculpted but the outfit itself is painted to be sleek and smooth like the comic book drawings.

Moving to the body you can see what I was stating about the sleek design but with a few wrinkles that are sculpted in. There are a few above her chest (which is done in pin up style) and a few around the waist where her leg is bending forward. Not too much, just enough to add to the realism. The outfit is bright candy apple red and black for the variance on the arms and legs, all done very bright, but not enough to make it look like a cartoon. No this matches the comic version perfectly. You can see the wrinkles are primarily done around the leg and chest area, which really does break up the monotony and give the piece contrast. I love how this is basically 2 colors, but everything is done to really make it all stand out. The body is done perfectly. Sculpted to look just like Wanda does in the books. I really like how Diamond Select can make the same character look like a drawing come to life You can see her belt, with the Deadpool face for the buckle and the brown weapons pockets throughout. Its her utility belt and it looks great. It matches her two leg straps for her guns.

This side shot give you a great look at Lady Deadpool’s long arms. The arm is done long, due to the placement and the bright red with wrinkles around the top of the arm and again at the wrist to add some movement to it. You can see how its pointed straight down with her sword being held towards her back, and all the fingers are individually sculpted to hold it. It really stands out and give this a striking look. You can see the wrinkles in the outfit by the wrist which is about as accurate as you can get. Looking down you get a good shot of the boots as well. Red leather high heeled boots that blend perfectly into the outfit. The placement of the legs is perfectly done as well. This really is a well done piece that stands out. I love the detail done on the sword as well. The brown and golden handle with the long sleek silver blade. I also really like how its being held behind her as she has it ready to strike.

This back shot shows off some of the muscles sculpted in. Her hair, which is smooth, yet still has some etching to it is twisting to the left giving the impression its blowing in the wind. You can see a few, very few, wrinkled molded into the outfit as well. Not many as it has that comic book sleek style to it but just a few for placement. Around the armpit area, and again a slight one at the waist where she is twisting slightly to the side. You can also see her two empty shoulder holders where her swords go. They are empty because she is currently holding both of them. You also get a nice look at the design of her utility belt. You can see how its done to look like smooth brown leather with the button on each one. You also see the stitching lines in the outfit around the leg area. It’s a great touch to sculpt in those things then simply paint it smooth to look like the comic book style.
Picture
The base is a simple piece of what appears to be concrete. Very dirty gray and black filled with cracks, lines, dents, and holes. You can see a pipe resting beside Wada’s leg. Its small and effective. A simple piece of street that Wanda is standing on adds a touch of realism to the piece yet takes nothing away from the statue itself. It’s a nice touch to have a grey piece be used as the base as the colors in the costume are so bright and vibrant.

This is a great piece and it is limited to say the least. 1000 of these are available. So you will need to order one fast as they wont last long. Wanda Wilson aka Lady Deadpool is a great character so I was excited to add her to my collection. If you’re a fan you will definitely want to hunt this down. If you are a Deadpool collefctor this will look great in your collection. Go and grab one today before they are all gone.

Overall 5 out of 5 Stars.
